Young Virtuosos in Concert: From Beethoven to Kreisler
This year, İlyun Bürkev, who captivated audiences with her performance at the opening concert of the 52nd Istanbul Music Festival, embarked on her piano education at the tender age of four. Under the tutelage of Prof. Burcu Aktaş Urgun, esteemed pianist Gülsin Onay, and Prof. Pavel Gililov, Burkev achieved her first international success at just ten years old in 2018. With numerous first prizes and accolades from international competitions, Burkev has been a dedicated participant in the masterclass programs of the Gümüşlük Festival Academy for the past four years and is making her second appearance at the festival this year.
Solo concert violinist Elvin Hoxha, noted for his wide repertoire, started playing the violin at the age of five. Born into a family of respected musicians in 1997, Hoxha gave his first orchestral concert at the age of eight with his grandfather, Server Ganiyev, and was accepted into the Young Student Program at the Zurich Conservatory the same year. Since the age of 10, he has performed in major concert halls worldwide and prestigious international festivals with world-renowned conductors and esteemed orchestras.
The duo, performing for the first time together at the festival this year, will include compositions by Beethoven, Franck, Waxman, and Kreisler in their concert program.This concert offers the audience a chance to explore the exceptional talents of these two young musicians.
