A Trumpet Master Uniting the Balkans with the Mediterranean Spirit
Miron Rafajlovic embarked on his musical journey at the age of eight with classical guitar. His exploration of jazz and music took a pivotal turn when he moved to Canada in the early 1990s, seeking refuge from the war in his homeland, where he discovered the trumpet as his new passion.
He is now recognized as one of the most prominent trumpet players internationally. Rafajlovic toured for eight years with the renowned group “Cirque de Soleil” and released two albums: “Trubadur” in 2018 and most recently “Mediterranean Soul” in 2023, blending Balkan roots with flamenco and jazz. He has performed over 2000 times in more than 40 cities.
At this year’s festival, Rafajlovic will grace the Water Stage with his quartet, presenting a diverse repertoire that highlights his emotionally charged playing technique, mastery as a composer, and boundless creativity, promising an unforgettable experience for the audience.
